Kevin Alons is an incumbent Iowa State Senator for District 7, serving since January 2023. A retired Colonel from the Iowa Air National Guard with over 27 years of service, he is also a small business owner and software development consultant for Alons Software. An Iowa native with degrees from Northwestern College and Webster University, Alons previously served as chair and treasurer of the Woodbury County Republican Party. His late father, Brig. General Dwayne Alons, was also an Iowa House Representative. Senator Alons is a long-time Salix resident, married to Ngu, and they have three adult children and three grandchildren. He serves on committees including Health and Human Services, International Relations, and Veterans Affairs.
