Kevin Boxberger

Kevin Boxberger was appointed as a District Court Judge by Governor Roy Cooper and assumed office on May 20, 2024. His career in public service began in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for six years, including a tour in Iraq. After his military service, he worked as a firefighter for the City of Raleigh. He then pursued a legal career, graduating with honors from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2013. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he practiced criminal and juvenile law for a decade and served as a Regional Defender for North Carolina Indigent Defense Services, overseeing the court-appointed system in seven counties. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
