Kim Schrier is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th Congressional District, a position she has held since January 2019. A Democrat and former pediatrician, Schrier is the first pediatrician to serve in Congress and chairs the Democratic Doctors Caucus. She is known for her work on healthcare, advocating for Medicare payment reform, strengthening Medicaid, and supporting the Vaccines for Children Program. She also champions legislation for mental health awareness in agriculture and Type 1 Diabetes screening. Schrier, who is 57, is seeking re-election in the 2026 primary for her congressional seat.
