Kimberly Davis has deep roots in Moore County, North Carolina, where she has lived since she was 11 months old. She attended UNC Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies and earned her law degree from Campbell University. In 2008, she began her career as a District Court Prosecutor, handling misdemeanor crimes. She later became a felony drug crimes prosecutor in 2012 and also served as a Special Assistant-Federal Prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's Office. In 2021, she became a dedicated Child Sex Crimes prosecutor.
