Klarissa Peña is the incumbent City Councilor for District 3, first elected in October 2013. She was born and raised in Albuquerque's South Valley. Her community involvement began over 29 years ago. She is the past President of the Southwest Alliance of Neighbors (SWAN) and the former Executive Director for the West Central Community Development Group (WCCDG), where she worked on the revitalization of Route 66. She also previously served as a City of Albuquerque Environmental Planning Commissioner. She is married with six children.
