Kurt Cook is a combat veteran of the Army Special Forces ("Green Beret") who was medically retired as a Major after serving multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. He earned a commission through R.O.T.C. from Towson University. After his military service, he worked for Hendrick Motorsports on the #9 car team. He is also a small business owner. He was elected to the Moore County Board of Commissioners in 2022 and currently serves as the Chairman. He resides in Aberdeen.
