Kyle Christensen

Kyle Christensen is the former Mayor of Sumas, serving from 2017 to 2021. He has also served as the Flood Recovery Manager for Whatcom County. His professional background includes being a small business owner, a real estate agent, and a Umatilla County Sheriff's Deputy in Oregon. He has over 25 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter and has served on several committees, including the Whatcom County Housing Advisory Committee and the Flood Control District Advisory Committee. As mayor, he managed a $12 million budget and led the community through the major floods of 2020 and 2021.
