Lamar Lyons has been a resident of San Pedro for over 30 years. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Philosophy and Mathematics and earned a law degree from Howard University. His career has spanned both the public and private sectors; he worked as Chief of Staff to Assemblymember Elihu Harris, in the Chief Legislative Office for the City of Los Angeles, and later co-founded a private equity firm focused on social impact. He has experience in affordable housing, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships. Lyons is also the President of the San Pedro Central Neighborhood Council, where he focuses on labor, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure issues related to the Port of Los Angeles.
