Larry Bartel was born and raised in Ridgefield. He has 33 years of experience in the fire service, having served in roles from volunteer firefighter to Fire Chief. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Washington, an Associate Degree in Fire Science, and is an Executive Fire Officer from the National Fire Academy. His father, Bill Bartel, was a founder of the original Fire District 12 in 1962. Larry Bartel's current term as commissioner runs from 2020 to 2025.
