Larry O. Wright Sr. is the pastor at Heal the Land Outreach Ministries and a former member of the Fayetteville City Council representing District 7. He was first elected to the city council in 2013 and served until he was defeated in a close election in July 2022. Wright is also a retired U.S. Army veteran. He gained national attention in 2016 for peacefully de-escalating a situation where a man entered his church with a rifle, ultimately praying with the individual until he surrendered the weapon.
