Lateefah Simon is the U.S. Representative for California's 12th congressional district, assuming office in January 2025. A recognized advocate for civil rights and social justice, she began her career with the Young Women's Freedom Center, later becoming its executive director and earning a MacArthur Fellowship at age 26. She previously served on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Board of Directors and the California State University Board of Trustees. She holds an MPA from the University of San Francisco.
