Laura Mork was elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2021 and became Deputy Mayor in 2024. A 25-year resident of Shoreline, she has a background as a chemical engineer, facilities manager, and certified project manager, with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Washington. Prior to her election, she served on the Shoreline Planning Commission from 2013 to 2021 and was a commissioner for the Ronald Wastewater District. She has also been an active community volunteer with the PTA and the Cascade Youth Symphony board.
