Lauran Tapp was born in Seattle, attended schools in Marysville, and returned to the city after living in other states. She is the Director of Student Engagement for Columbia College at Naval Station Everett. Previously, she worked at Cascadia College, the University of Washington, and as a staff analyst for Boeing. She also volunteers with Mercy Watch, an organization that provides aid to homeless individuals.
