Laurie Jinkins

Laurie Jinkins, a Democrat, has represented Washington's 27th Legislative District since 2011. In 2019, she made history as the state's first female and openly lesbian Speaker of the House. Jinkins advocates for accessible and affordable healthcare, housing affordability, and rebalancing the tax code. She has also championed civil rights and worked to protect food assistance programs for Washingtonians. She and her partner, Laura Wulf, have one child. She is seeking re-election in 2026.
