Lawrence Peter Novak is a Republican and longtime Republican activist in Brockton, Massachusetts, running for state representative in the 9th Plymouth District. A former attorney, he pleaded guilty in 2009 to one count of obstruction of justice and two counts of money laundering, was disbarred effective February 20, 2009, and was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison. He holds a JD from George Mason University, a master's in public administration from Ball State University, and a BS in accounting from Bentley College. He is a former member of the Brockton School Committee and a former president of the Little Red School House Association, and has raised funds for the Red Cross. The Brockton Republican Party named him Man of the Year in 1996, 2007, and 2023, and its only Man of the Century in 2019. He has published articles in the Boston Globe, Brockton Enterprise, Boston Herald, and Boston Broadside.
