Leah Wainman

Leah Wainman is an epidemiologist with a Master's in Public Health from the University of Washington. Her career has focused on public health and policy, with experience in research, evaluation, and Medicaid transformation. Her public health work began in the Peace Corps. Locally, she serves on the Whatcom County Public Health Advisory Board, where she helped pass a resolution declaring racism a public health crisis, and the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center Board. She has also served on the City of Bellingham's Community Development Advisory Board. A self-described lifelong Democrat, she served as a delegate for the 2nd Congressional District at the 2024 Democratic National Convention and is the State Committee Member for the 42nd Legislative District.
