LeAnn Pierce was elected to the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners in 2022 and currently serves as Vice Chair. Her term is set to end in December 2026. Before becoming a county commissioner, she was elected to the Carolina Beach Town Council in 2013 and became the first female Mayor of Carolina Beach in 2019. Pierce is a small business owner, having owned and operated a 62-room hotel in Carolina Beach for 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from East Carolina University. She has two sons and two grandchildren.
