Dr. Leighton Thomas is an education professional with over 15 years of experience. Her career began as a middle school math teacher in D.C. public schools and has included roles such as Chief Strategy Officer at the Wyoming Department of Education and an education consultant. She holds a doctorate in education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from American University, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Alma College. A military spouse and mother of two, she is an active community volunteer, serving with the PTA and on the board of a youth orchestra.
