Levi Bachmeier

Levi Bachmeier was appointed North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction by Gov. Kelly Armstrong in October 2025, officially taking office in November. A West Fargo native, he brings experience as a classroom teacher, business manager for the West Fargo School District, and education policy adviser to former Gov. Doug Burgum. He has also served on multiple state education boards. Bachmeier is campaigning on a "back to basics" platform, emphasizing strong schools, teacher support, family engagement, and high expectations. His priorities include improving student outcomes, keeping partisan politics out of classrooms, promoting parental rights, and retaining teachers through efficient spending to ensure students graduate ready for the real world.
