Levon Barnes

Levon Barnes is a public school educator with 19 years of experience, a father, coach, and motivational speaker. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, he attended Campbell University on a baseball scholarship, graduating with a degree in physical education. He later earned a master's degree from Prairie View A&M University. He has worked as a college basketball coach and a teacher. Barnes is the founder of a youth empowerment and mentoring organization for young Black and brown males called Young Male Achievers. He is also a Fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership and was a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee. He moved to Mebane at the end of 2021.
