Lia Frenchman is a member of the Quinault Indian Nation and has Chinook, Chehalis, Delaware, and Sioux heritage. She serves as the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Quinault Indian Nation. Frenchman is also a singer, drummer, and teacher, with a deep commitment to cultural preservation. She has served as the President of the Quinault Cultural Advisory Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Quinault Canoe Society. She is a student at Evergreen State College, focusing on Indigenous Studies. Her interests include tribal food sovereignty and its connection to the landscape. She lives in Taholah with her partner and two children and has spoken about the direct impact of rising sea levels on her community.
