Lisa Scales has served the public in Cumberland County for over 30 years. She began her career in the Register of Deeds office in 1986, holding various positions including Assistant and Senior Assistant Register of Deeds. In August 2017, she was appointed as the Cumberland County Clerk of Superior Court by the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge. She has since been elected to the position. Her experience includes receiving the North Carolina Association of Register of Deeds Certification in 1990 and an advanced certification in 2009. She is a past president of the Democratic Women of Cumberland County.
