Lisa Stone Barnes is a native of Nash County, North Carolina. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Peace College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University. Her career experience includes working as a real estate paralegal and in the agribusiness industry alongside her husband. Prior to her time in the State Senate, she served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2019 to 2021 and as a Nash County commissioner for six years.
