Lori Childs is a Rockland resident and Democrat running for State Representative in Massachusetts' 5th Plymouth District. Born in Washington, D.C., she put herself through the University of Maryland (BA in American Studies) and built a career in advertising before running her own holistic healing center for 11 years. After moving to Rockland in 2004, she led a Girl Scout troop for eight years, served three years on the Rockland Finance Committee, and serves on the Rockland Select Board, where she has directed federal funds to water, sewer, IT, and downtown improvements, balanced town budgets without an operational override, and supported local businesses. She is running to bring a hands-on, people-first, fiscally responsible approach to Beacon Hill.
