Is this you? Claim this profileLowell Griffin is a lifelong resident of Henderson County. His career in public service began in 1982 as a firefighter with Edneyville Fire and Rescue, and he continues to serve as an active EMT and firefighter. In 1992, Griffin started his law enforcement career as a detention officer with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. He has worked in various divisions, including civil process and patrol, and later became Captain of Criminal Investigations. He has also been involved with SWAT and was one of the first certified bomb technicians on the Bomb Team. Griffin has served as a law enforcement instructor at Blue Ridge Community College. In 2014, he took a position with the Polk County Sheriff's Office to lead their narcotics and interdiction programs. He was first sworn in as the Sheriff of Henderson County on December 6, 2018. He was re-elected in 2022 without opposition. In December 2025, he announced his campaign for a third term.
