Luis Davila is a Democratic candidate for Florida House of Representatives District 48. He was born in Queens, New York and moved to Springfield, Massachusetts when he was about three years old; his parents, who came from Puerto Rico, worked manufacturing jobs on different shifts and raised him and his two older sisters. Much of his career has involved working with manufacturers in different industries, and he became politically engaged while in high school in the Springfield Public School system. He has lived in Polk County for the past four years and ran to be 'the change in Polk County,' emphasizing affordability, housing security, renter representation, infrastructure, public school funding, better-paying jobs, and investment in Black and brown neighborhoods.
