Luis M. Burbano is an engineer at Boeing and co-owner of a small business, Tamia Cakes, with his wife. Born in Ecuador, he immigrated to the United States as a teenager. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Practices from Cascadia College, graduating in 2021. His advocacy for safer roads began after being struck by a car twice while cycling to work. He has served on the Sound Transit Community Board for the light rail expansion in Everett.
