CivorenLuke Murphy is a retired Army Staff Sergeant and Purple Heart recipient running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida's 2nd Congressional District. Following the September 11 attacks, he volunteered for active duty and deployed twice to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division. In 2006, he lost his right leg and sustained severe injuries to his left in an IED blast. A graduate of Florida State University, Murphy works as a real estate broker and an advocate for fellow amputees.
