Lynn Evans is an incumbent Iowa State Senator representing District 3. A native of Aurelia, Iowa, he and his wife, Midge, have been married for 40 years and raised their family in northwest Iowa. Prior to his current role, Evans led school districts and served communities across several Iowa counties, reflecting his occupation as an educator. He holds significant leadership positions in the Senate as Assistant Majority Leader, chairs the Education Committee, and vice-chairs the Ethics and Government Oversight Committees. A Republican, he is seeking re-election in the 2026 primary for his State Senate seat and is also exploring a run for Iowa's 4th Congressional District. He is active in his community as a member of Aurelia First United Methodist Church and president of Alta Kiwanis.
