Lynne Walz is a lifelong Nebraskan, former elementary school teacher, and former state senator. She grew up on a small hog farm outside Fremont, earned an education degree from Midland Lutheran College, and taught 4th and 5th grade before serving in the Nebraska Legislature (2017–2025), where she chaired the Education Committee. She lives in Fremont with her husband Chris; they have three adult children and seven grandchildren.
