Magali Sanchez-Hall is an environmental justice activist and a resident of Wilmington, a community she notes is one of the most polluted in California. She was brought to the United States as an undocumented immigrant and was a single mother to three children. After earning her GED, she graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in Chicana/o Studies and a Master's in Public Policy. Her professional career has been focused on workforce development, environmental justice projects, and creating policies to expand access for underserved communities. She is the founder of the EMeRGE movement, which aims to promote environmental justice. Sanchez-Hall has been an advocate against neighborhood oil drilling and has worked with community organizations to address pollution and public health concerns.
