Marc Berman is a Democratic member of the California State Assembly, representing District 23. First elected in 2016, he chairs the Assembly Business and Professions Committee and previously chaired the Elections Committee, where he authored California's permanent vote-by-mail law. Before his election to the State Assembly, Berman served on the Palo Alto City Council and worked as an attorney in the non-profit sector. He holds a JD from the University of Southern California.
