Marcelita V. Haynes

Marcelita V. Haynes has served as a Judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court since her appointment in 1993. Her focus has been on the Community Collaborative Court, which addresses the needs of individuals dealing with drug addiction, mental health issues, and homelessness. Prior to her appointment, she was a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County from 1983 to 1993 and a sole practitioner from 1979 to 1983. She also worked as a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board from 1976 to 1979. Judge Haynes earned her Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law in 1976 and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles.
