Marcia Morey is a politician, former judge, and former competition swimmer. She represented the United States at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Before her legislative service, she served as a district court judge for 18 years in the 14th Judicial District, including five years as Chief District Court Judge. In 1998, she was appointed executive director of the Governor's Commission on Juvenile Crime and Justice. She has also served as an assistant district attorney in Durham. Morey earned her J.D. from Northwestern University Law Law School, a master's degree in education from Reed College, and an undergraduate degree from Millikin University.
