Warigia Margaret Bowman is a third-generation New Mexican and a law professor at the University of New Mexico. Her grandmother was a public school teacher in Manuelito, New Mexico. She earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in 1990, a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2009. Her career includes 17 years of classroom teaching experience and working as an Honors Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. She is a mother to three children, two of whom attend Sandia High School within Albuquerque Public Schools.
