Marian T. Ryan is the Middlesex County (Northern District) District Attorney, serving since 2013 and Massachusetts' only female district attorney. A trial and appellate prosecutor, she has led the county's response to the opioid crisis, created juvenile and young-adult diversion and restorative justice programs, helped build a Conviction Integrity Unit, and implemented a policy of not requesting cash bail in low-level non-violent offenses. She previously served as General Counsel of the Middlesex DA's Office and as Chief of its Elder and Disabled Unit.
