Marianna A Anaya

Marianna A. Anaya, a Democrat, serves as State Representative for New Mexico's 18th District since January 2025. Born and raised in Albuquerque, her background includes communications, lobbying, and community organizing. As a queer woman of color of Chicano heritage, Anaya champions rebuilding the behavioral health system, achieving universal healthcare, and supporting healthcare workers. She also advocates for culturally relevant education, diversifying New Mexico's economy with renewable energy, and implementing stronger environmental protections. Anaya is a proponent of gun control. She holds leadership roles on legislative committees, including chairing House Enrolling & Engrossing - A and co-chairing the Behavioral Health Subcommittee. Anaya is running for re-election in 2026.
