Maricres Castro is a Filipino-American and a resident of Pierce County since 1996. She is a graduate of Northwest University with a BS in Biology and a Minor in Environmental Science. Her commitment to service is inspired by her grandmother, a doctor who built the first hospital in her hometown in the Philippines. Castro is active in several advocacies, including promoting inclusivity, women's rights, and environmental and indigenous rights.
