Marie Alvarado-Gil is an American educator and politician who has represented California's 4th State Senate district since 2022. Originally elected as a Democrat, she changed her affiliation to the Republican Party in August 2024. She holds a bachelor's degree and a Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. Prior to serving in the State Legislature, Alvarado-Gil worked in the education sector and served on charter school boards. She is running for re-election in 2026.
