Mario Diaz-Balart is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Florida's 26th congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he was first elected to Congress in 2002. Before his tenure in the U.S. House, Diaz-Balart served 14 years in both the Florida State Senate and the Florida House of Representatives. He is a senior member of the House Committee on Appropriations and serves as the Dean of the Florida Congressional Delegation.
