Marisa Monteverde was raised in the Methow Valley and graduated from Liberty Bell High School. She attended The Evergreen State College, where she studied Political Economy and Spanish. After college, she worked for the Centralia School District in a federal migrant education program. She later moved to Portland, Oregon, where she operated a restaurant and worked with a nonprofit affordable housing developer for five years. Monteverde returned to the Methow Valley in 2018 and operates a lawn care business. She was appointed to the Winthrop Town Council to fill a vacancy and was sworn in on August 7, 2024. She also serves as a board member for the Methow Valley Interpretive Center.
