Mark B. Murphy is a Republican State Representative for New Mexico's District 59. A Roswell resident with over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, he is the President of Strata Production Company and holds a Bachelor's Degree from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Murphy was appointed to the New Mexico House of Representatives on January 17, 2025, to fill a vacancy and assumed office on January 21, 2025. He has focused on supporting agriculture, energy, and mining industries, addressing crime, and improving the education system, while also helping his community recover from floods. He serves on several committees, including House Commerce & Economic Development and House Energy, Environment & Natural Resources. Though initially planning to seek re-election in 2026, he has since withdrawn from the race.
