Mary Cavanagh is a Democratic member of the Michigan State Senate, representing District 6 since January 1, 2023. Prior to her election to the State Senate, Cavanagh served in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 10 from 2021 to 2022. She earned a bachelor's degree in physical anthropology from Wayne State University. Before holding elected office, she worked as an AmeriCorps member and as a director for a community revitalization company.
