Mathewos Samson

Mathewos Samson is a community organizer, democratic socialist, and lifelong Atlantan running for Georgia House District 58. Raised in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward by immigrant parents, he was driven to politics by the unaffordability of Georgia and the impact of gentrification on his community. He advocates for universal healthcare, including comprehensive reproductive and gender-affirming care, and a single-payer system. Samson also champions housing as a human right, proposing rent control, ending corporate ownership of single-family homes, and investing in social housing. He aims to bring working-class representation to the state capitol, rejecting corporate donations to ensure an economy that truly works for families.
