Matt Brown was elected to the Yakima City Council for District 6 in 2021 and was appointed Deputy Mayor in 2023. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, he moved to Yakima in 2006. Brown is an ordained Foursquare Pastor and owns two small businesses, Foresight Productions, an AV design firm, and Marble Cake Media LLC. He has also served as the Chairman of the Yakima County Republican Party and in January 2025, became the Political Director for the Washington State Republican Party.
