Matt English

Matt English, an Anamosa, Iowa native from a farming family, is a U.S. Army veteran and Iowa National Guard member. He is an educator, teaching high school social studies, directing theater, and coaching speech. Holding bachelor's and master's degrees, English is also a foster parent and Certified Human Rights Consultant. His core political philosophy is liberty, aiming to protect the Civil and Human Rights of all Iowans, regardless of identity. He believes these rights are threatened by state underinvestment and legislative attacks on transgender Iowans, DEI, and public education. English is running to ensure government serves Iowans and to flip his district's seat.
