Daughtry has served in the Maine House of Representatives (2012-2020) and the Maine State Senate since 2020, currently representing District 23. In December 2024, she was unanimously elected President of the Maine State Senate, becoming the youngest woman to hold the position. As Senate President, she is first in line to become Governor and plans to address energy prices, healthcare, housing, and property taxes in the 2025 legislative session. She is seeking re-election to the State Senate in the 2026 Democratic primary.
