Matthew A Harrington

Matthew A. Harrington is a fourth-generation Mainer and a graduate of Southern Maine educational institutions. He served over 15 years as a Kennebunk police officer. His political career began in 2014, and he currently serves as State Senator for District 33, representing towns including Sanford, where he lives. As Assistant Senate Republican Minority Leader, he advocates for economic growth by attracting new businesses, reducing regulations, and lowering taxes. Harrington also supports free-market healthcare solutions, a welfare safety net with work requirements, and educational reforms like repealing the 1-4 grading system and promoting vocational training. He is seeking re-election in the 2026 Maine Primary.
