Matthew D. Beck, a South Portland resident, is serving his second term as State Representative for House District 122. He and his wife, Denise, moved to Maine in 1987. Beck worked nearly two decades as a Television Producer/Director at WGME-TV, then spent 17 years as an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union organizer before retiring. He has also served as a Portland Water District Trustee and South Portland Democratic Committee Chair. His legislative priorities include gun safety, housing affordability, reproductive autonomy, mental health, climate action, healthcare access, and strengthening the economy with fair wages, aiming to protect Mainers and ensure equal rights.
