Matthew Freeman Brass, born in Newnan, Georgia, is an incumbent Republican in the Georgia State Senate, representing District 6. After serving in the U.S. Navy and graduating from the University of Georgia, he worked as a golf club professional and Chief of Staff for Congressman Lynn Westmoreland. First elected to the Senate in 2016 for District 28, he assumed office in District 6 in 2025. He serves as Majority Caucus Vice Chair, Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, and Secretary of the Children and Families Committee. Committed to his community, he is active with several local organizations. Senator Brass is seeking re-election to continue his service in the State Senate. He and his wife Maegan have three children.
